R&D Systems位于美国的明尼苏达州，一直致力于生物制品的开发与生产。公司成立之初主要生产用于医院及临床应用的血控品。1977年，公司推出第一个产品--富血小板血浆质控品；1981年，公司成为全球第二家生产含血小板全血控品的供应商。40多年的发展中，R&D Systems仍持续开发各种血控品产品。
1985年，作为公司推出的第一个科研试剂产品，也是全球第一家将该产品进行商业化生产的产品，R&D Systems成功上市了TGF-beta1蛋白。作为胞外信号分子，TGF-beta1蛋白在多种细胞中进行表达，并作为胞外信号分子参与免疫功能，细胞增殖和细胞分化等生物学过程。该产品推出后，公司陆续从生物材料中纯化了几种细胞因子产品并推向市场。天然蛋白类产品的成功推广，加速了R&D Systems在细胞因子市场的开拓。公司于1985年形成Growth Factor事业部（现Biotechnology事业部）。Biotechnology事业部的目标是生产和营销重组人细胞因子。与天然来源提取蛋白相比较，DNA重组技术生产的蛋白产品其成本更低，产量更高，完全摆脱原料的限制。1989年，Biotechnology事业部开始开发抗细胞因子的单克隆和多克隆抗体，并于1990年开发了第一个ELISA试剂盒。

▍Immunologic公司产品线
● 抗体：大多数抗体是由哺乳动物产生的，例如小鼠或兔子。从这些动物身上分离出来的血液在血清中含有多克隆抗体（与同一抗原结合的多种抗体），现在可以称为抗血清。为了产生对抗原的单个表位具有特异性的抗体，从动物中分离出分泌抗体的淋巴细胞，并通过将它们与癌细胞系融合而永生化，这些融合的细胞称为杂交瘤，并且会在培养物中不断生长和分泌抗体。分离单个杂交瘤细胞产生细胞克隆，这些细胞克隆都产生相同的抗体;这些抗体称为单克隆抗体。
● 检测系统：Immunologic 的 BrightVision 是最新的聚合物标记技术。与传统的基于生物素-链霉亲和素的检测试剂盒相比，这种简单、稳健、易于使用的无生物素检测系统是独一无二的。BrightVision 的优势是:提高灵敏度；更快的响应时间/节省时间；消除亲和素/生物素背景；提高信噪比；更好的信号放大（膜、核或细胞质）
● 酶作用物：免疫学还有一种独特的显色原底物，广泛用于免疫组织化学染色和免疫印迹，即 Bright DAB。该产品采用双组分系统，由液体稳定的 DAB 显色剂和 DAB 底物缓冲液组成。
● 稀释剂：正常抗体稀释剂用于免疫化学程序。抗体可以直接在该试剂中稀释，可以立即使用或储存在冰箱中。
● 冷冻培养基及水封片剂：冷冻培养基 （CryoCompound） 是一种基于水的冷冻组织包埋培养基，旨在支持低温恒温器切片中的组织块。配方可促进快速冷冻、增强切片并在 -20°C 的工作温度下获得一致的结果。水封片剂广泛用于水溶液的盖玻片,是一种非荧光，并具有抗淬灭成分，可增加样品的观察时间。将 Aqua-Poly/Mount 与大多数荧光染料和染色剂一起使用，包括 DAB、碱性磷酸酶、Fast Red、AEC（氨基乙基脲）和各种其他显色剂，以增强和保持荧光强度。它可用于冷冻切片、脂肪染色剂、免疫组织化学和原位杂交的显色剂以及其他需要水溶性封片剂的应用。
